What to Do Before Liposuction - Aesthetica Plastic Surgery Resources (3)

When you look in the mirror, you should be able to rely on the rocking, sexy person you see in retrospect! But unfortunately, not everyone feels super great in their own skin — pesky patches of stubborn, unwanted oil can be both an annoyance and a boost in confidence. No one should look at their own reflection and feel discouraged afterwards! For this reasonliposuctionIt's one of America's favorite methods for fat reduction, toning and getting rid of pesky unwanted fat. This proven practice has given women (and men!) the confidence boost they were looking for.

Would you like to boost your self-confidence with aliposuctionProcedure? Read below to learn how liposuction works, if you are ready and what to do and what not to do!

What is liposuction?

liposuctionIt's a procedure that can help remove up to a few pounds of fat from love handles through a thin tube — a cannula — that sucks out unwanted fat like a vacuum. There are various techniques used by surgeons to ensure the best treatment for their goals. Liposuction procedures can target the upper arms, abdomen, buttocks, ankles, calves, back, chest, thighs, hips, neck, and chin. Depending on the amount of fat to be removed and the location of the procedure, the patient is given general or local anesthesia. As long as the patient's weight remains stable, the effects are permanent. In general, liposuction takes about three hours from start to finish. As the body recovers from the lost fat cells, the skin reshapes during recovery, saying goodbye to that stubborn fat forever!

Does liposuction hurt?

Since the patient is under anesthesia, there is no pain during the procedure. However, the patient should expect pain, soreness, and tenderness for the next few days after the procedure. Your doctor will prescribe you painkillers. If the healing site is irritated (either by movement or friction) it may cause pain (so try not to disturb the healing zone!) Follow your surgeon's instructions for minimal difficulty.

Is liposuction dangerous?

As with any procedure, there are risks with liposuction. Skin irregularities (such as bumps), infections, fluid build-up, and heart and kidney problems are some of the possible risks. However, by choosing an experienced, recognized and trained doctor, the risks are significantly reduced.

Is liposuction?

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that contours the body by removing pockets of fat.

How long does liposuction recovery take?

Because liposuction is an outpatient surgery, you'll likely be able to go home the same day. Initial recovery takes about 2 to 3 months and full recovery takes about 5 months. Of course, it's best to listen to your doctor and follow their instructions to ensure a smooth recovery!

Does liposuction leave scars?

Yes, liposuction leaves a small scar. These scars are usually less than 1 inch in length, although they vary depending on the procedure. If you're worried about this, talk to your doctor about ways to cure it.

Am I Ready for Liposuction?

So you've made your decision - you're ready for liposuction to contour your body! However, are you ready to take the plunge? Here are some things to consider!

  • Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity! This is super important! Make sure you are at your ideal weight before undergoing liposuction. Liposuction aims to get rid of fatty areas and stubborn pockets and help you contour your body without losing significant weight.
  • You may need a combined offer. If your skin is very tight (for example, if the skin on your abdominal area is very saggy and loose), you may need liposuction and a loose skin tummy tuck. Liposuction removes fat cells but does not tighten the skin.
  • Know what you are dealing with.If you want to treat cellulite or blemishes, liposuction will not solve the problem. laser treatment etcCoolSculptingare better options!

What to do before liposuction

To get the best results from liposuction, you should help keep your body in tip-top shape. This is how you achieve the best possible results! Also, it's always a good idea to learn healthier habits.

First, you should make sure you are at your ideal weight. That means setting a reasonable goal. Exercising for a few months and eating a healthy diet before surgery can help you target the right stubborn fat areas and shape your body the way you want. After all, liposuction is about stubborn fat that won't go away even with exercise and a healthy diet - so getting to that point is really important!

Second, you want to build muscle in the areas you are targeting.. Although some patients are discouraged from building muscle in fat areas, it is actually very beneficial. Once liposuction is performed, the fat area is no longer there to hide muscle definition. You're going to want some lean muscle once the fat is gone!

Once all the hard work is done and you are ready to complete the procedure,It's time to prepare your home for recovery.Plastic Surgery.orgrecommends these tips:

  • Buy easy-to-prepare foods
  • Organize your wardrobe so that comfortable clothes are easy to find
  • Get extra long charging cables for your electronic devices
  • Offer to help with children or pets
  • Put essentials within reach of your bed

What NOT to do before liposuction

Now that you know what to do before liposuction, here are some pre-procedure tips on what to avoid and what not to do!

Do not take nicotine at any time prior to surgery(even months before!). Nicotine constricts blood vessels and decreases blood flow. This is dangerous not only for liposuction, but for any surgery/cosmetic surgery. Nicotine will also greatly delay recovery. This means you must quit smoking once the procedure is scheduled and stop smoking until you have fully recovered.

Do NOT take any medication before the surgeryas this may increase bleeding. These include (but are not limited to) aspirin, herbal medicines, anti-inflammatory drugs, birth control, and more. Talk to your doctor about the medications you are taking.

Don't shaveArea before liposuction. Shaving before liposuction means there is an ingrown hair, which increases the chance of infection.

DO NOT drive yourselfto and from the operation. As with any surgery, you will want someone to help transport you to and from surgery and help with your initial recovery!

DO NOT wear tight clothingto your commitment. While it may be tempting to wear leggings or a tight, cozy sweater to your liposuction appointment, chafing from clothing after surgery will irritate the area. Wear loose and comfortable clothing!
